This Cookie Notice explains how Axiom Technologies, LLC ("Auto Expert," "we," "us") uses cookies and similar tracking technologies on our website at https://theautoexpert.io (the "Site"). In plain terms:
- We use a small number of cookies to make the Site work, remember your preferences, and understand how visitors use the Site.
- We do not use cookies to build advertising profiles about you, and we do not sell your information for money.
- You can control or block cookies through your browser settings or, where available, through the cookie banner on our Site.
- This Notice should be read together with our Privacy Policy at https://theautoexpert.io/legal.
1. What Cookies Are
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They allow the site to remember your actions and preferences over a period of time, so you don't have to re-enter them each time you visit or navigate between pages. Similar technologies — such as web beacons, pixels, local storage, and software development kits — perform comparable functions and are also covered by this Notice.
Cookies can be "session" (deleted when you close your browser) or "persistent" (remain on your device until they expire or you delete them). They can be "first-party" (set by us) or "third-party" (set by a service we use).
2. Scope of This Notice
This Cookie Notice applies to the public Site, including marketing pages, demo requests, waitlist signups, newsletter signups, and webinar or event registration pages.
This Notice does not apply to cookies or tracking inside the Auto Expert software-as-a-service application (the "Service"), which is governed by the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy and processed under our agreements with each dealership customer. Tracking inside the Service is generally limited to what is needed to authenticate users, secure the application, support the user, and operate product features.
3. Categories of Cookies We Use
We use the categories of cookies described below. The specific cookies we set may change over time; the current list is reflected in the cookie banner on our Site, where one is shown.
3.1 Strictly Necessary Cookies
These cookies are required for the Site to function. They support core features such as page navigation, secure submission of forms (for example, demo requests), session continuity, and basic load balancing. The Site will not function properly without these cookies, and they cannot be turned off in our systems. They do not store personally identifying information beyond what is needed for the immediate request.
3.2 Functional Cookies
These cookies remember choices you make on the Site to provide a more personalized experience — for example, remembering form inputs you have already submitted, your preferred language, or whether you have dismissed a notification or banner. If you disable these cookies, some Site features may not function as expected.
3.3 Analytics Cookies
These cookies help us understand how visitors use the Site so we can improve it. They collect information such as pages visited, time spent on pages, links clicked, referring pages, browser and device type, and approximate location derived from IP address. We use this information in aggregate to measure traffic, identify pages that are not performing well, and improve the Site experience.
Analytics cookies on the Site are currently provided by [ANALYTICS PROVIDER — e.g., our analytics provider, Plausible, Fathom]. Information collected through analytics cookies may be transmitted to and processed by that provider in accordance with its own terms and privacy practices, which are available at https://theautoexpert.io/legal.
4. Third-Party Services That May Set Cookies
Some pages on the Site embed content or features from third parties (for example, scheduling tools used to book demos, video providers used to embed product videos, or form-submission services). When you interact with that content, those third parties may set their own cookies. Their use of cookies is governed by their own privacy and cookie policies, not by this Notice.
A current list of third-party services that may set cookies on the Site is described in Section 4 of this Notice and, where applicable, within the cookie banner on the Site.
5. Your Choices
5.1 Cookie Banner
Where required by law or where a cookie banner is shown on the Site, you may use the banner to accept or reject non-essential categories of cookies. Strictly necessary cookies cannot be rejected because they are required for the Site to function. You can change your cookie choices at any time by clicking "Cookie Settings" (or equivalent) in the footer of the Site.
5.2 Browser Controls
Most browsers allow you to view, manage, delete, and block cookies through their settings. Specific instructions are typically available in the browser's "Help," "Settings," or "Preferences" menu. Blocking some cookies may cause portions of the Site not to function as intended.
5.3 Global Privacy Control and "Do Not Track" Signals
We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals where they are sent by your browser, treating them as a request to opt out of any "sale" or "sharing" of personal information under applicable U.S. state privacy laws. We do not currently respond differently to other "Do Not Track" browser signals because no industry consensus has been reached on how to interpret them. We will update this Notice if that changes.
5.4 Analytics Opt-Outs
You can opt out of certain analytics tools directly with the provider. For our analytics provider, you can opt out through your browser settings and the analytics provider's own opt-out tools. Industry-level opt-outs are available at the Network Advertising Initiative (www.networkadvertising.org) and the Digital Advertising Alliance (www.aboutads.info).
6. Changes to This Notice
We may update this Cookie Notice from time to time to reflect changes in the cookies and similar technologies we use, changes in applicable law, or operational changes. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this Notice and, where appropriate, provide additional notice on the Site. The most current version is always the one published at https://theautoexpert.io/legal.
